Be Financially Prepared with the Emerald Advance® Line of Credit
Editor’s Note: This offer is not currently active.
It’s a wonderful time of year! The most wonderful, some would say. But on top of fun and food, there may also be new coats and boots for the kids, winter maintenance for the cars and frozen water pipes to deal with too. It’s the time of year to always be prepared. That’s why we are offering our Emerald Advance® Line of Credit.
The Emerald Advance is a line of credit that offers you the ability to borrow and repay money, up to a maximum credit limit determined by the bank after you submit an application. It’s available beginning November 24. If your application is approved, you will be able to make your first draw and have the funds loaded to an Emerald Card the same day.
Here are some common questions we get about the Emerald Advance.
How do I apply for the Emerald Advance?
Make an appointment to visit one of our offices. You can do that online or by calling 855-294-5827. Schedule your appointment today. You cannot apply for the Emerald Advance online.
What do I need to bring?
- A current earnings statement (like a pay stub)
- An unexpired, government-issued photo ID (like a valid driver’s license)
- Your Emerald Card (if you have one)
New clients, who haven’t received the Emerald Advance before, will also need to bring proof of address, like a utility bill or bank statement.
How much is the credit limit on an Emerald Advance?
If approved, you could receive a credit limit between $350 and $1,000. However, you may choose to take less than the amount you are approved for so that you don’t borrow any more than what you actually need.
When will the line of credit be available to use?
If you are approved, you will immediately be able to draw against a portion of your credit limit and have the funds loaded onto an Emerald Card.
Can I use my tax refund to repay the Emerald Advance?
Yes, you may choose to pay down your balance with a portion of your tax refund if you return to Tax Bar to have your taxes prepared. There are many options to pay down your Emerald Advance as well as for making monthly payments before pay down and year-round. Check out the Tax Bar Emerald Card Mobile Banking App
